The Los Angeles Police Department Custody Services Division is currently accepting outside agency recruits for our next ACO Core Course. 

The Academy is schedule is as follows:

Monday November 04, 2024, through Friday November 08, 2024. Pre-Academy (Mandatory) 

Tuesday November 12, 2024, through Friday March 07, 2025, ACO Core Course. 

The location of the Pre-Academy week will be the Metropolitan Detention Center, located at 180 North Los Angeles Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012.  The Pre-Academy consists of a family orientation day, uniform fittings, academy prep and various presentations. The ACO Core Course is a 16-week stress Academy, covering academics and physical training that includes instruction in law, custody operations, laws of arrest, arrest and control training, situational leadership, physical fitness, and officer safety. The training takes place Monday through Friday from 0600-1430 hours at the Ahmanson Recruit Training Center, located at 5651 W. Manchester Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90045.
